Tips for use of Glue Guns

Standard temperature hot glue guns are great for most types of projects, including projects with electronic components.

The disadvantage of using a standard temperature glue gun is that the glue melts more quickly which makes it hard to work with smaller amounts of glue fast enough.

Low-temperature glue guns will allow you to work with small amounts of glue faster, however, the downside is that it does not melt as quickly when you want to use larger amounts of glue, like for a larger surface area.

Some project builders might need more than one kind of glue gun. For example, an artist might use a low-temperature gun for projects that require little glue and a standard temperature gun when building functional art. Workers who do production runs might want an adjustable temperature gun to keep the glue hot but not burn or damage the materials being glued.

Standard temperature hot glue guns are the most commonly used type of glue gun.

Standard temperature guns are great for most uses but, at the high temperatures, they run at may be problematic for some materials.

Low-temperature guns have a much lower melting temperature (around 200°F) and are generally recommended for more delicate materials, such as coatings and polystyrene.
